Norco College Biology Professor Monica Gutierrez has been bringing science and college awareness to fifth-grade students at Lincoln Alternative Elementary. “It all started with a small lecture I gave to my daughter’s fifth grade class about cells, using our biology lab’s cell model,” said Gutierrez. “I asked myself, why should these students just study models? What if they could observe live cells?
