EASTVALE – Hundreds of excited intermediate school students from River Heights and Ramirez Intermediate turned out to support their team as the girls basketball teams battled it out on the court. The game was held on October 7th in the Roosevelt High School gym. Students were proudly wearing their school colors as they sat with their classmates cheering on their team. While both teams played really hard, River Heights Intermediate took the win by two points.
“The intermediate sports program has really brought some fun and community spirit back into our middle school arena,” said Robert Ibbetson, principal at Auburndale Intermediate.
” I want to thank everyone for the RHIS vs. ARIS Monday night, a.k.a. the game of the century. The turnout and spirit were amazing. The kids, coaches, staff, and parents were not only energetic but also showed excellent sportsmanship. It was truly a community and family atmosphere,” said Jeremy Goins, principal at Roosevelt High School.
