Congratulations to Renae Bryant, science teacher from Raney Intermediate School for receiving the 2013 Teacher of the Year award by CABE (California Association for Bilingual Education). Ms. Bryant’s hard work and commitment to her students’ success has earned her this esteemed award. The CABE Teacher of the Year award honors teachers who demonstrate steadfast excellence, devotion and promotion of bilingual education.
Ms. Bryant received her award at CABE’s annual conference, held in February. Her commitment to ensuring that her students achieve their highest potential has required her to take her lessons beyond the classroom to encourage parental involvement. Ms. Bryant is highly respected among her colleagues and has been an instrumental member of the district’s English Learner Task Force.
“Renae is an outstanding, hardworking teacher who has always gone the extra mile to support English Learners. This award is extremely deserved by Ms. Bryant as she has worked hard to ensure that English Learners not only have access to the curriculum, but to a great opportunity in their future,” said Nivia Gallardo, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction English Learner Program.
Ms. Bryant’s devotion to her students and their success is a testament to her passion for teaching. Her commitment to providing her students with an exceptional education mirrors her efforts in the community. When she is not teaching science or involved in bilingual education committees, Ms. Bryant commits her time to giving back to the community by volunteering at various community organizations and non-profits from the Inland Aids Project to the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice.
